The new Fort du Rocher Chapter, NSDAR, celebrated with a holiday luncheon on December 15, 2019, attended by State Regent Sharla Luken. In addition to lunch, the attendees signed 200 Christmas cards for the residents of the LaSalle Veteran's Home and decorated the envelopes! We also collected wall calendars for the imprisoned women in Illinois.
Chapter members, HODARS, and family worked on the chapter service project Friday, October 16,2020. This years project focused on improving the grounds at the VA home in LaSalle, Illinois. Together the team worked diligently with fall clean-up, landscaping, and the planting nine new bushes that will bloom continuously from Spring through the Fall. Our chapter extents many thanks for the time and expertise of FloraStarts LLC.
The chapter service event was published in the News Tribune on October 26, 2020.
Fort du Rocher chapter was also published in the Vets Gazette on October 2020.
A few of the daughters fulfilled our chapter’s most recent service project at Freedom House in Princeton, Illinois. The group delivered gently used purses, donated by our chapter members, filled with items needed by women seeking shelter.
It was our honor to support such worthwhile project.
